Our story

Born from a love of dogs.

The Canine Gym was founded by Mia, a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds and sizes.

Meet the founder

Hi, I’m Mia.

I’ve spent years working closely with dogs, and one thing became crystal clear: most dogs aren’t getting nearly enough real exercise. Not because their owners don’t care, but because life gets in the way.

I started The Canine Gym to solve that problem. By bringing professional fitness sessions directly to your door, I wanted to make consistent, structured exercise something every dog owner could actually stick to.

Every dog I’ve worked with has a different personality, energy level, and set of needs. That’s why we take a personalized approach, because cookie-cutter fitness doesn’t work for dogs any more than it works for people.

Why I started this

What I believe about dogs.

Every decision I make starts with one question: is this good for the dog? Safety and comfort come before everything else. If a session isn’t right for a particular dog on a particular day, we adjust, every time.

I don’t believe convenience is a nice-to-have. It’s the whole point. If exercise isn’t easy, it won’t happen consistently, and consistency is the only thing that actually changes a dog’s health. So we come to you.

My own dogs, Mash Potato and Gravy, are the reason I care about this as much as I do. Everything we offer is something I’d want for them, and I won’t put your dog through anything I wouldn’t put mine through.

How it began

From idea to driveway.

The idea was simple, and it came from watching the same thing happen over and over: dogs who clearly needed more movement, and owners who genuinely wanted to help but couldn’t fit one more thing into the day.

So we built the thing that removes the excuse entirely, a professional slatmill setup that travels, plus the software to track every session, so progress is something you can actually see instead of just hope for.

The Canine Gym launched in Hamilton County, Indiana, and the response from local dog owners told us we’d gotten it right. We’re still early, and we’re still growing, one driveway at a time.
